In this lecture Martín Sastre, an artist and filmmaker from Uruguay, analyses his works - focusing on the ‘U for Uruguay’ perfume project - as a series of coincidences. He explores how chance influences his artistic practice and how specific coincidences contribute to shape the creation process of an artwork.

In this lecture, Petri Saarikko discussed Kallio Kunsthalle, his Gallery in Helsinki, Finland. This lecture focused primarily on the Kallio Kunsthalle’s Ernst Collection which was exhibited at the Te Whare Hēra Gallery at the time of this lecture.

Kallio Kunsthalle: Ernst Collection is the mobile embodiment of Kallio Kunsthalle, an expanding suitcase art collection which consists of fragments and narratives from exhibiting artists and non-artists that have made their way to Aotearoa/New Zealand.

In early June 2015, Finnish-Swiss artist duo Sasha Huber and Petri Saarikko set out to find participants to join their 2nd edition of their ”Remedies” project, initially started in Sweden during their 2010/2011 residency at Botkyrka Konsthall.

Huber presented her work on Swiss naturalist and proponent of scientific racism Louis Agassiz (1807-1873). Her project, Demounting Louis Agassiz, engages with geographical features which bear the Agassiz name.
