Kallio Kunsthalle is an art gallery in the heart of Kallio, Helsinki which subscribes to principles based on The European Year of Volunteering (2011). The Gallery is a product of the artists who reside there including Petri Saarikko and Sasha Huber, Elokolo visitors, ex-scholars and local associations. Kallio Kunsthalle is located in the ex-meeting room of the Association for Healthy Lifestyles, at Toinen linja 31 Helsinki and its main partner is Helsinki Optimists. Currently Kallio Kunsthalle Chapel is facilitated by pastor Kai Sadinmaa.
Kallio Kunsthalle: Ernst Collection is the mobile embodiment of Kallio Kunsthalle, an expanding suitcase art collection which consists of fragments and narratives from exhibiting artists and non-artists, that have made their way to Aotearoa/New Zealand. The suitcase allows itinerant encounters with these artistic appropriations and its contents were presented at Te Whare Hēra Gallery in a bespoke exhibition facilitated by Finnish artist and curator Petri Saarikko.
