What sort of tattoo do you have?

Ink and pigments placed within skin can represent a rite of passage, social status or the special devotion of their carrier. Memorial, humorous or purely decorative, these imprints always have a story worth sharing.

Since the start of her residency in February, Te Whare Hēra artist Chloé Quenum has been documenting people’s tattoos and the narratives that go along with them.

Chloé is hosting the TATTOO workshop as an open-studio evening: you are warmly welcome to pop into the Te Whare Hēra Gallery anytime between 5 and 7 pm and share the story of your tattoo over a drink and nibbles. With your permission, Chloé will record your tattoo and the narrative surrounding it making it part of her collection of tattoo stories, and potentially part of Chloé Quenum artwork or exhibition in the future.

TATTOO is the third and final workshop held by Chloé Quenum as part of her residency at Te Whare Hēra.
