Join Sam Palmer for an introduction to Taonga Puoro making and playing.

Using basic tools and sand paper, you will walk away with a kōauau and porotiti.

Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring some shared kai for lunch.

Sam Palmer began his journey into the world of taonga puoro when he went to Whitireia Polytech in 2009 to learn whakairo.

From then, Sam has carried on his passion for whakairo and now facilitates taonga puoro making wananga that has a focus on making taonga puoro accessible to more people.
