French artist Soraya Rhofir’s lecture presentation introduces Aotearoa/New Zealand audiences to her creative practice.

Rhofir illustrated her presentation with her artwork and discussed her working processes, her uses of various media and materials, and the concepts central to her practice. She talked about her Te Whanganui a Tara/Wellington residency plans, and about turning her attention to the kitsch fantasies and underlying themes and philosophies in imagery associated with ‘Kiwi’ identity, such as the iconic motifs that shape popular and tourist culture in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
